Do you have a “Bucket List?” I know that was the name of a recent movie but I have a reason for asking…

Every time I tell someone about something I am doing on my “list of things that I have always wanted to accomplish” they say “Oh…your Bucket List.” So now, I just call it my Bucket List.

My Bucket List includes things that I have wanted to do my whole life. All of the items are important to me because they are my list. Some of the items may be silly to others but because they are things that I wanted to accomplish in my lifetime, they are mine. No one can make the list for me and no one can accomplish the things that I want to achieve.

For instance, I worked in “corporate world” for years. I am determined not to go back to that world but, instead, build a successful home-based business. I have been there and done that with corporate America. Not bad, but “no thanks.” Not any more.

I wanted to learn how to play the piano ever since I could remember. I will now begin my fifth year starting in January. When my piano teacher told me that I was now at the “intermediate” level recently, I about fell off my piano stool. Me, at the intermediate level. Wow! Perseverance at its finest. It has taken one lesson a week and many hours of practice but I acheived that level with the help of my instructor.

The point to all of this is that if you begin slow and steady, persevere, practice the art of Network Marketing and learn from people who are willing to help you, then Success will come.

Just as with the piano, there are two methods. The “watch and mimick what I am doing” method. That method allows you to begin playing songs immediately. But what have you learned? You skipped all of the lower level skills that you need to build your strengths upon.

The other method, which is the method I am being taught, is the slow and steady method. I virtually started out at the Kindergarten level. That is what I tell everybody because I knew nothing except that the instrument sitting in front of me was a piano. I am now at the intermediate level because I didn’t rush it. I have taken the time to learn the methods, practiced countless hours every week and everything I am being taught is a stepping stone to the next level.

This is EXACTLY like Network Marketing. Network Marketing is Building Relationships.

How can you expect to start at the top when you have not gone through the steps to find out how to get there? With no instruction and mentoring, you are going to burn out very quickly and get lost in the “where do I go from here” phase. This method will take you spiraling downward until you finally give up.

Take inventory of where you are at and then decide: “What is on my Bucket List?”
